As Latino leaders and products of low-income, under-resourced schools in San Bernardino County, we deeply understand that opportunity, economic freedom, and lasting success start with access to quality education.
San Bernardino County has one of the lowest rates of baccalaureate attainment in the nation at just 21.8%, trailing only behind Brooklyn, New York. This needs to change, and that's why Lifting Our Stories (L.O.S.) was founded — to transform these statistics and expand opportunities for our community.
Lifting Our Stories is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering Inland Empire youth to lead, serve, and create positive social change. Our organization offers an experiential leadership curriculum focused on identity awareness, career exploration, and a final research and action project. Through our programs, we foster cross-generational and cross-cultural partnerships in outdoor settings, providing youth with a renewed perspective on their connection to both their natural surroundings and their community.
By equipping young people with the skills and platforms to share their voices, we aim to reshape the circumstances that fuel educational inequities in our community.
Join us in lifting our stories — and theirs. Together, we can drive change.
